So another day, another mad shoot... this time to publicise the Great British Salted Chocolate Challenge, a competition for top chocolatiers, but more of that later.
This shoot was more bizarre than most as it involved some of the contestants in the competition pelting the up and coming boy band and recent X Factor contestants Concept with melted chocolate and salt in front of the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square.
The unsuspecting public and the Trafalgar Square Heritage Wardens had no idea what was about to happen when a small crowd of us turned up armed with a roll of paper, pots of chocolate and salt accompanied by us photographers and a film crew.
Then the band cycled into the square, where they understandibly attracted quite a bit of attention, with some people obviously having been tipped off about their imminent appearance. It caused a real stir when the chocolate started flying, people stopped to take photographs whilst a couple of their stalwart fans got involved and ending up covered in chocolate too.It was only at this point that the wardens got interested in what was going on with their only complaint being that we were not allowed to ride bycycles. By this time the clean up crew had arrived in the form of hundreds of feral pigeons, which we thought would be complained about as well.
After the event we disappeared as quickly as we came, back into the crowded London streets leaving the pigeons to their feast.
More of this to follow...watch this space.
